My Lord and My God (Anderson)

My Lord and My God (Anderson)

This song is inspired by love for the Eucharist. The verses bring us through salvation history, using Eucharistic types drawn from the Old Testament, and finishing with Eucharistic acts lived out by Jesus. The title, “My Lord and My God”, is the great confession of St. Thomas, one that is commonly (and silently) prayed by participants at the moment of the consecration in which the priest elevates the host and the chalice after declaring “This is my Body” and “This is my Blood”.
